Roger Goodell Must Have Info About Weed and Painkillers That The Medical Community Doesn’t

Via Mike and Mike:

“I think you still have to look at a lot of aspects of marijuana use,” Goodell said. “Is it something that can be negative to the health of our players? Listen, you’re ingesting smoke, so that’s not usually a very positive thing that people would say. It does have addictive nature. There are a lot of compounds in marijuana that may not be healthy for the players long-term. All of those things have to be considered. We really want to help our players in that circumstance but I want to make sure that the negative consequences aren’t something that is something that we’ll be held accountable for some years down the road.”

The NFL, who got sued for doping up players on addictive pain killers? Like super deadly addictive pain killers that have helped cause crises like the opioid addiction crisis going on? They’re the ones saying they’re worried about players getting involved in something addictive?

Roger Goodell will die on whatever hill his corporate sponsors tell him to. Because this is obviously not true. Everybody and their mother knows now that there are benefits to marijuana. And not all benefits, because there are still plenty of downsides. But as a medicine, and in terms of helping deal with pain, it’s a million times less addictive than pain killers, while giving similar results.

But I’m sure that Roger has more info on the subject than the medical community, you know, people who actually went to school and studied on the subject. No way is it just that Roger’s rich friends don’t want to see players smoking weed, because that will hurt their brand, despite helping the overall well-being of the lives of the players. I said it yesterday, the NFL’s still invincible. Because there’s no league that brings the emotions that the NFL does. But they’ll always be the last ones to progress.
