You’re probably just enjoying your quiet Sunday of football. Trying not to think about the fact you have to go back to school/work tomorrow. Last thing you want to do is get involved in an argument. But there’s something we need to talk about.
Every Christmas I’ve got to hear people talk about Mariah Carey’s “All I Want For Christmas Is You” like it’s a song sent down from the Good Lord. In reality, it’s not even top 20 Christmas songs or renditions. Maybe it was before Michael Buble dropped his 19 song deluxe Christmas album, but surely not after it. (best Christmas album of all-time, don’t even think about @’ing me on that).
That’s not to try and kill your Christmas spirit, because I love this time of year to be full of 100% happiness, and no negativity. However, before we enter December, can we all agree to move past Mariah Carey? It’s a once in a while good play, but 93.9 shouldn’t have it in the regular rotation alongside Bing Crosby’s White Christmas or Josh Groban’s Noel. It’s the “Santa Clause” of Christmas songs. Good enough to be played a few times during the season, but it’s no Elf, or in this case, anything Michael Buble (second time I’ve mentioned him, just really want to hammer the point home that his Christmas album’s the GOAT).
Thanks, as always, come fight me on Twitter if you really think you’re bout it.
