Cleveland Blew A 3-1 Lead In The World Series

Twitter, Facebook, instagram, snapchat, memes, photoshopped pictures, college Gameday, presidential debates, or any other live nationally broadcasted event. What do these all have in common you ask? They are all places you will find someone reminding us that Golden State blew a 3-1 lead in the NBA Finals. Cleveland fans spent their entire summer, and most of the fall, reminding us this. Karma, like Father Time, remains undefeated. And friends…SHE. IS. A. BITCH!
I usually sympathize with fans of teams that suffer devastating loses. I am a Cincinnati sports fan, I’ve seen my fair share of them. But, Cleveland fans got exactly what was coming for them.
I didn’t really care who won the World Series at the beginning, all I wanted was to watch a good series. But, my rooting interest changed as soon as Cleveland went up 3-1. I instantly went from not caring who won, to rooting for the Cubs. It didn’t change because I hate the Indians. It didn’t change because I like the Cubs. It simply changed because I wanted a meme to die. What a world we live in that the sole reason I wanted a team to win the World Series was to kill a meme.
Like any other meme, if you don’t like it or it annoys you, give it a couple weeks and it will die. Take for instance the Arthur memes over the summer. Arthur was the hottest meme of the summer for a couple weeks, and I hated it. I hated the cartoon when I was younger and thought the memes were just as stupid. But, after a few weeks, Arthur memes vanished from the Internet.
“Golden State blew a 3-1 lead” went on for four and a half months! I’ll admit, it was funny for a couple weeks. But, it got old…QUICK! Thankfully, this over used meme is finally dead.
