Woods Withdraws From Safeway Open

After announcing last week that he would play in this weeks Safeway Open in Napa, California, Tiger Woods announced on his website that he will not play in the PGA Tour’s opening event.

Woods stated on his website tigerwoods.com, “After a lot of soul-searching and honest reflection, I know that I am not yet ready to play on the PGA TOUR or compete in Turkey. My health is good, and I feel strong, but my game is vulnerable and not where it needs to be.”

Woods also had said he would play in Turkey for the Turkish Airlines Open at the beginning of November, but also withdrew from that event.

Woods could possibly return at his annual tournament the Hero World Challenge at the beginning of December.
