The ever so controversal Greg Hardy has decided to take his talents to mixed martial arts, or better known as MMA. The free agent defensive end announced his decision to test out the MMA earlier today.
Hardy has played six professional seasons in the NFL, five seasons with the Carolina Panthers and one with the Cowboys. Notably known for his outlandish personality and headache he can bring to a locker room, Hardy has been a free agent since being cut by the Cowboys a season ago.
A player with so much raw talent and a knack to find the quarterback, Hardy tallied 40 sacks in 75 games played. Hoping to be signed by a team for this coming season, Hardy was arrested on cocaine charges in late September undoubtedly crushing his chances to be signed. After being cut by the Cowboys at the end of last season, Hardy started to train in mixed martial arts.
Hardy stated on MMAFighting.com, “I’m very focused and excited to start my MMA career.”
Several different promotions have showed interest in Hardy, but no scheduled fights have yet been announced.
