According to multiple sources, the Atlanta Hawks have agreed to send Jeff Teague to the Pacers in a three team deal. A very blonde George Hill will head to the Utah Jazz and the Hawks net Utah’s 12th overall pick in the deal.
I like the trade from all fronts. Dennis Schröder, one of three current German-born players in the NBA, is slated to take over the point guard spot for the Hawks. He has drawn many Rajon Rondo comparisons in his young career. The 12th overall pick should also add young talent to an already deep roster.
The Utah Jazz have had a helluva time finding a point guard. Shelvin Mack was the primary point last season and struggled in the role. Michigan product Trey Burke also failed to perform. The Jazz do get back Dante Exum after he tore his ACL last year playing for the Australian National Team. George Hill and his low turnover percentage will be a welcoming addition.
Jeff Teague gets to come home. Teague was born in Indianapolis and played at power house Pike High School in Indy. Teague is coming off of a minor knee injury and his status for opening night is not yet known. It has also been reported that the Pacers hope to lock down Teague to a long term deal.
It also appears there is another point guard on the move…
