A Finals to remember

Last night marked the end of the NBA season and the end to one of the greatest performances in Finals history. Lebron willed the Cavs back from a 3-1 deficit to finish off the defending champs and history was made on multiple fronts by the king.

Historical fact 1: The Cavs were the first team to ever overcome a 3-1 deficit in finals history. Thus, twitter  exploded with the “The NBA is rigged” tweets. Basketballs been around too long for that record not to be broken at some point. It was going to take a special performance to pull it off and luckily we were all witness.

Historical Fact 2: Lebron “Mother Bleeping” James

You couldn’t put up numbers like that on 2k. Love the man or hate him, if you can’t appreciate how special he was in this 7 game series you can’t appreciate good basketball. Lebron was great the whole series.

Also, Kyrie Irving is a cold blooded mother.

In defense of my boy that was solid defense, just a big time shot.

However, the most iconic play of these finals is right here:

That man is literally the greatest athlete to ever play professional sports.

Crazy to think in a year where teams where scoring at will, the last two minutes of the NBA Finals had one field goal.  That play epitomizes the phrase defense wins Championships.

What happened to the Warriors?

I have been asking myself this question since the series was tied. Cleveland did so many things right, none bigger than Bron hitting jumpers. But to start Steph played no where near his MVP caliber. He was entirely to passive and cute with the basketball.

Man WHAT ARE YOU DOING? All in all he just didn’t produce enough, no excuses he didn’t show up. Had 2 chances late to take the lead and tie it up on shots we have seen him hit countless times and he came up empty. Big time question marks about him closing out games to come this summer.

Harrison Barnes

No better way to describe him.

Draymond Green

32 points

15 Rebounds

9 Assists

If you would’ve shown me that before the game, there is no chance in hell I would’ve thought the Cavs win that game. He might be a dirty player, but the mans still an All-Star. You don’t have to like him, just respect his game.

*Also love the respect here

All in all it was a finals series for the ages, with so many moments that will live in infamy. Lebron may have realistically given himself a Resume satisfactory enough to earn him the title as the G.O.A.T(that’s another discussion).  What a year in basketball, between this and the National Title game, us fans have been blessed.
