Seattle Mariners Erase Ten Run Deficit, Defeat Padres

After the bottom of the fifth inning the score sat Padres 12 – Mariners 2.  Then the Mariners erupted for 14 combined runs in the sixth and seventh.  Their seventh was one of the most impressive innings in baseball thus far.

Seven straight RBI singles with two outs. Ain’t that some shit.  Final score Mariners 16 – Padres 13.  It was the largest comeback in the franchise’s 40-year history.

With the win, the Mariners now move back into a tie with the Rangers for first place in the AL West. And yes, in my preseason video I did pick the Mariners as one of my breakout teams.
