2016 hasn’t been the greatest year, and things just got worse.
After going back and forth in his battle with cancer, Craig Sager announced today that doctors told him he may only have 3 more months to live.
Stu Scott’s passing was a monumental loss to the basketball community. Players said that all that mattered is if you had that post-game interview with him after winning the championship. If you didn’t have that, you didn’t have a successful season.
Craig Sager’s in the same breath. It’s not just the colorful suits. He’s given character to the game, and done his job better than anybody before him, and anybody that comes after him. I really cannot imagine basketball without Craig Sager. I can’t imagine never seeing another Sager and Pop in-game interview. I can’t imagine seeing Shaq, EJ, Kenny, Charles, and everyone else with tears in their eyes as they talk about their late friend. I can’t imagine it, because it seems unbelievable. I don’t want to live in a world without Craig Sager. Pray for Craig. And remember the words of Stu Scott:
“When you die, that doesn’t mean you lost to cancer. You beat cancer by how you live, why you live, and the manner in which you live.”
